The autumn leaves in a spa town, Okutsu

It’s the best season of the autumn leaves

So, we decided to visit popular spot for it, Okutsu in Kagamino town. It's also famous for Okutsu spa!

Today, we are going to eat local foods at first, then enjoy the autumn leaves, and have a bath at Okutsu spa !
It sounds gorgeous, isn’t it

It takes about 2hour from the centre of Okayama City to Okutsu through the motorway.

We visited a restaurant which serves local foods made with local vegetables.
It’s in ‘Michi no eki Okutsu onsen’.

Some Kakashi (a scarecrow) are displayed here and there.
I can recognize the one on the right hand … it must be a famous football player, Homare Sawa

Here is a restaurant ‘Onsen tei’
It’s highly rated by not only tourists but also local people.

In the middle of the restaurant, you can see Irori (a fireplace) !
It reminded me my grandma’s house...

You can have a cup of coffee and a pudding after a meal as well

It’s ‘Ashibumi sentaku (doing laundry by feet), a tradition of Okutsu.
Years ago, people used to wash their clothes in the river, watching out for dangerous animals such as bears and wolves.
This is a performance imitating that scene.

It takes place on Sundays and bank holidays.
What’s more, you can join them and try it if you like

Speaking of Ashibumi sentaku , I came across this in Michi no eki Okutsu onsen.
You should take a photo with this
