One of the best hot springs in Okayama 'Yubara spa'

Hi
Today, we visit ‘Yobara spa’ in north Okayama.

This spa is one of the three best hot springs in Okayama (Okutu spa, Yunogo spa, Yubara spa), it attracts a lot of tourists in winter

It takes about 1hour by car from the centre of Okayama City.
We went there through a motorway, and left it at Yobara IC.

Speaking of Yubara spa, you should visit an open-air bath, ‘Sunayu’ at first!
We parked our car near the river, it was just around the corner.

There are three baths in Sunayu.
Each bath is named 'longevity''beauty' and 'being blessed with a baby'.
You can choose which bath you have

Sunayu is maintained by local people.
To my surprise, we can have a bath free of charge

Just one thing, you need to bring a towel with you.
And don’t forget… there’s no changing room
So, it could be challenging for girls …but, don’t think, just enjoy

Next, we headed for a shrine,‘Onsen Yakushi dou’, it’s a three-minute walk from Sunayu.

People believe that Yakushi gives you back something you lost, such as health, money, your boyfriend/girlfriend.
It must be helpful for you

There’s hot water gushing out at Onsen Yakushi do.
It’s said this hot water is effective for every illness. Of course, you can drink it!

Yan tried it!

However, it seems hot Be careful

This is a hotel 'Aburaya' near Onsen Yakushi dou.

This hotel opened in 1688.
It’s said that this hotel is the model of 'Aburaya' in the animated film ‘Spirited away’ by Hayao Miyazaki

I remember Aburaya in the film was huge, but this hotel isn’t so big.
Although, I found it beautiful I’ve got a feeling that I’m in the story

This hotel has an elegant roof ‘Karahafu’, it’s a traditional design of Japan.
This building is called ‘Shokutokan’, a part of the hotel, it has a restaurant and open-air baths inside.

There are four bath halls in this building, two for men and the others are for women.
This hotel accepts day visitors, so you can have a bath without booking.
